Our Veneers

Thanks to their ultra-thin design and special tooth enamel coloring, it’s virtually impossible to tell when someone has veneers. They are constructed from stain-resistant materials, which prevents them from becoming discolored due to exposure from tobacco products and beverages such as coffee and wine. When treated properly, a set of veneers should last for about ten years. At Image Dental, we recommend the use of porcelain veneers because of the material’s natural look and great performance.

To create a set of custom porcelain veneers, it is necessary to take impressions of the patient’s teeth. Because of this, a patient will be required to make two visits to our office to receive veneers. The first visit involves taking impressions of the teeth and preparing them for treatment, and the second visit consists of applying the veneers.

Our Process

The first step when conducting treatment for the application of veneers is to shave off some of the enamel of any teeth that are designated for treatment. This is done to accommodate for the space that the new veneers will take up. Once the teeth are ready, impressions will be taken, and an exact coloring of the veneers will be determined. This information will be forwarded to a dental laboratory where the patient’s veneers will be built. A temporary restoration will be applied to protect the patient’s teeth during this time.

When the veneers are ready, the patient will return for their follow-up visit. The temporary restoration will be removed, and the patient’s teeth will be carefully cleaned. The surface of the teeth will be adequately roughened using etching gel so that the veneers will be able to bond properly. Finally, the veneers will be applied over the surface of the teeth and secured with a dental adhesive. The dentist will make sure that the veneers are held tightly in place, and the patient will be provided with special instructions regarding the proper care for their veneers.
